Summer clinics, all you need to know!
Summer is usually a busy time with racing and training. Once more this year I have set a series of clinics and will support various teams or groups at events. This year I have teamed up with Curradinghy Sailing for the Optimist program. This will aloow to propose a stronger program and better support. look at the links below and book your place to ensure participation ( we will unfortunately have to limit numbers to maintain the most efficient coach-sailor ratio)

Peter McCann wins Optimist Ulsters
The RNIYC had a busy spring and after a successful laser Ulsters, it was the turn of the optimist to provide the show. 5 Races were sailed and Peter McCann returned to form with a very solid series edging out Sean Donnelly by an impressive 10 points. The ever improving Richard Hogan completed the podium. In the junior fleet, It was all down to the last race between Ronan Cournane and Niamh Henry. Favourite Ronan taking 3rd just one ahead of Niam was enough to secure the trophy. Issy Delamer completed the podium. The regatta fleet was won by Michael Ni Suilebhean from Kinsale. The 9 year old sailor will be one to watch very soon! |
Sophie Browne wins in fine style home in Tralee (opti Munsters)
Tralee Bay sailing club provided as usual some superb racing. After two average events, Sophie Browne resumed business as usual and never seemed under pressure in the windy weekend! She won with a comfortable margin ahead of Robert Dickson (3rd podium finisg of the season!) and Adam Hyland. In the juniors, Kate little was the show on saturday with 3 bullets and eventhough she faded a little on Sunday, this was sufficient in order to take a deserved title. Ronan Cournane had a solid Sunday to edge out the fast improving Cork man Harry Durcan. In the regatta, once more Michael did the show in the short 3 races series. |
India in Summer, 2nd visit to TNSA
8 pretty intense days at TNSA... Lasers and optimist were at the program but most importantly keeping in developping a building relationship. Mahesh Balachander won the short 4 races regatta I setted up in a comprehensive manner. The 10 year old actually won all 4 races and I will have the pleasure to coach him this summer in Europe. He edged out his friend Aniketh and his sister Janaki ( still pretty tired as freshly returning from The Singapore open). I am delighted to continue developping my involvement in India and look forward to my next trip! |
