Adjusted Autumn program

  • CLINIC 1: RCYC, 18-21 October. Open. 120EUR ( bring bike, boat, TY insurence cover)
  • CLINIC 2: RStGYC, 7-10 November. open. 120EUR (boat and laptop)
  • UK inlands. departure from Dublin on 11th. cost TBA... have secured travel with coach (i order of email received). Dermot Lyden, Conor Murphy, Darragh O sullivan, Darra O Shea and Alex Delamer. Cian Cahill and Dan O Beirne travelling with Tadgh Donnelly! extra driver needed / trailer can be found for the rest of the Bcademy squad

At the moment, a selection will have to be done for the spring program if oversubscribed. We will look at the program and its cost at the first clinic as a case study, look for comfirmed application and assess the need for a second coach/vehicle. Keep an eye for this as the job will be advertised pretty soon if necessery.

Team 2012... proposal

!IMPORTANT!

Easter (and therefore the Munsters) is falling in the middle of the proposed program below, furthermore I had confirmation from the ISA the youth national will be held the following week and will decide selection for the ISAF YW. The alternative proposal will stop the program after the 01/04 event. It is now possible we will look at another event before the 11/03, maybe a UK qualifier. However the UK and french national calendars are not out yet so details are impossible to give

I am now taking bookings for the Autumn program (2 clinics + Inlands)... For the Inlands trip, there are 5 spots in my jeep, first come first served! a second vehicle and a 6 spots trailer may become available soon.

Autumn program : OPEN (priority given to TY sailors whishing to qualify for the spring program)

Note Easter is the 08/04 and per each year the Munsters are likely going to be held in Baltimore over Easter weekend which falls right in the middle of the spring program. This should not have an impact on futur selections for various big regattas although it will be monitored.
It is hoped the ISAF YW selection will happen over the May bank holiday weekend as per last year and that will not impact the program. If it transpires this assumption is wrong the program may be re-assessed to allow YW hopefuls to join the selection process.

For information, the program 2011 included 33 days away, 4 events, the skiing day. The total cost per sailor was 2847EUR and included every necessery expenses (Travel, coaching/support, entry fees, accomodation, food, skiing day). Pocket money may have been used by sailors but it was a choice.
Every efforts are made to keep the program as cheap as possible to look like a very effective way of progressing in sailing whilst proposing a unique cutural and life skills development experience.

Draft 05sept 2011.
