Two successful clinics in Munster and Leinster
The Bcademy 2011-2012 started on a great note with two very successful clinics in Munster ( RCYC) and Leinster. 8 days in total of active sailing. The main focus was SPEED, settings and trimming. with 14 sailors involved in total the start is a franc success ( see videos) Finn Lynch dominated the two weeks, indeed one long race a day was sailed to constitute the Autumn aspect of the Bcademy series.
The team is now looking at another possible clinic in January before the lucky selected undertake the awaited spring trip to Europe

The Bcademy Autumn program concluded in Grafham at the UK inlands 11-12 November. Ross Vaughan assited me very effectively and it is 10 sailors who managed to travel under our watchful eyes. Pat Donnelly drove an extra 3 sailors over. Mattie O Dowd was their coach for the duration of the regatta. 3 races were sailed in 6-10 kts and the Irish collected some silverware in the two class we were represented. Cian Byrne won the 42 bosts laser 4.7 class with 2 bullets and a fifth whilst Robbie Gilmore collected bronze in the 120 boat radial fleet. Seafra Guilfoyle is once more transferring his skills in the next class taking 4th and top U16 forhis first radial event. Darragh O Sullivan 9th overall is credit to his hard work and shows his progress in shifty conditions.
