YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES (15-16YRS)

Sophie Murphy, 16 year old from Quoile, Northern Ireland, displayed all her talent and tenacity to finish 7th at the byte C2 Europeans in december on her first week in the boat after 2 years of learning skills in a laser 4.7. The Quoile sailor started her challenge in the twenties but finished strongly to pick up one of the 7 nation places available to qualify Ireland to the games. She has now been confirmed by the ISA as the Irish representant in Singapore next August. WELL DONE SOPHIE! YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES (15-16YRS)Young sailing hopefuls with their sites set on Singapore 2010 and the inaugural Youth Olympic Games can now find full details on the qualification events with the publication of the Notice of Race for each qualifier. The inaugural Youth Olympic Games (YOG) will be held in Singapore in August 2010 and feature 100 young sailors competing across four sailing events.
